Our staff has a strong commitment to caring for older adults in rural Cass County.  All of our staff grew up on a farm or in a small town and understand the rural way of life.  They work every day to assist our clients remain as long as safely possible in the homes they love and cherish.

    Myrna grew up on a farm outside Grand Forks and graduated from Thompson High School. She has a BA in Music & Math Education from Concordia College and a MA in Educational Leadership from NDSU. Prior to joining Community of Care in May 2011, Myrna taught 5th – 12th grade Band and served as an Associate in Ministry of the ELCA, doing Youth and Christian Education Ministry. She is responsible for governance, development, staff supervision and marketing at C of C. Myrna feels fortunate to serve the residents of rural Cass County, and frequently relies on her experience as an adult child of an aging parent having cared for her mom for many years. She works full-time, sharing her time between offices.

    Debra grew up in Slayton, Minnesota - a small town in southwestern MN - and graduated from Slayton Public School System. She has a BA from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa; a Masters in Christian Education and a Masters in Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Debra is the newest member of the Community of Care Staff (July 2016), having retired from a 40 year career as a United Methodist pastor. In that career, she spent significant time helping persons impacted by various disasters to "get through the hoops" so that they could make decisions about their home/living or health arrangements. Debra has an elderly parent in a memory care facility in Fargo for whom she is the Power of Attorney, two adult children and three grandchildren. She and Gary have been happily married for 40 years. Debra works full-time between the Arthur and Casselton offices as the Care Coordinator.

    Rebecca grew up on a farm near Binford, ND and graduated from Binford High School. She has a BA in Social Work from Concordia College, Moorhead, and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is a Licensed Certified Social Worker and a trained Stephen Minister. She has previously worked in the areas of long term care, counseling, parent education and mental health. Rebecca joined the staff of Community of Care in March, 2015 and enjoys being active in the community, connecting volunteers and clients. Rebecca facilitates the volunteer program and works part-time in the Casselton office.

    Gwen grew up in Moorhead, MN. She has nursing degrees from NDSU and Presentation College in SD. She has worked in numerous and diverse nursing settings including; Clinical, Hospital, Mental Health, Home Health, Public Health and Migrant Health. She continues as a Faith Community Nurse in the Buffalo, Tower City area. She is married, has three grown sons and lives by Buffalo, ND. She serves as the Faith Community Nurse for Community of Care. She joined our staff in April 2016 and works on Wednesdays and Thursdays in our Arthur office.

    Lanette grew up on a farm near Harvey, ND. She graduated from NDSU with a B.S. in Sociology and Business Admin. She has previously worked in businesses related to Agriculture and Aviation. She and her husband are long time Casselton residents and have two grown children. Lanette works part time as the Community of Care bookkeeper.
